EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — The Covid-19 Crisis Response Fund of the Greater Evansville Region is continuing to raise money and award it to help the community.

Organizers say more than $4,700,000 has been raised so far. Of these funds, $1,950,000 is a sponsored project of Indiana United Ways, with funding provided by Lilly Endowment Inc. The target for the fund is $6,000,000, but that number will depend on the needs of the community as time goes on.

The Fund is asking members of the region to “do what you can” and donate to help the communities.

As of April 24, the Fund has awarded $200,000 to seven nonprofit agencies with over $2,200,000 requested. Dream Center Evansville is one of the recipients and has given families groceries and household supplies.
