Crews continue to repair the damage vandals left at Garvin Park Pool Wednesday night. Today’s task was pumping all the water out of the pool, which took over eight hours.

The pool must be emptied in order to repair the lining of the pool. It was damaged when objects including a picnic table were thrown into the pool.

“Their expert, who installed that one as well as the one at Lloyd’s, is coming to take a look at it.,” said Parks and Recreation Director Denise Johnson. “They’ll be making repairs to it, and then that will have to sit and cure for a while, probably at least 24 hours. And then we can start filling the pool again.”

The pool is still scheduled to reopen late next week. Evansville Police are still searching for the suspects.
