Owensboro Police respond to assault call

OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) – Owensboro Police responded to a disturbance call on Thursday afternoon to the 700 block of Walnut Street.

The suspect, Harold L. Sanders, 60 years old of Owensboro, had pointed a firearm at the victim and shot one round into the sidewalk. The victim was struck in the foot by shrapnel from the firearm being discharged that caused minor injury.

Police arrested Sanders charged him with Assault (2nd Degree), Wanton Endangerment (1st Degree), Disorderly Conduct (2nd Degree), Trafficking in Marijuana (1st Offense), Possession of Controlled Substance (1st Degree, 2nd Offense – Cocaine), Terroristic Threatening (3rd Degree), and
Possession of Controlled Substance (1st Degree, 1st Offense – Methamphetamine).
