Students at one Daviess County School are discovering how a lunchroom staple is made.
East View Elementary students learned how a dairy cow is milked from Southland Dairy farmers.
They met Daisy, a dairy cow from another Kentucky farm.
Students learned about the process, how a cow produces milk, and how much food and water a cow eats and drinks a day.
“I think it was pretty cool, and I learned a lot of new things about a cow. I learned that a cow drinks about a full bathtub of water per day.”
The kids were also taught the importance of dairy farming.
