You’ve seen schools honor students and teachers, but one Daviess County School is honoring their custodian.
Tamarack Elementary celebrated Mr. Ricky Day honoring school custodian, Ricky Young.
Each class gave him gifts and thanked him for what he does to keep the school clean.
The idea came from two fifth grade students.
Young says he was surprised and touched by this day.
“I’ve never dreamed of them doing anything like this for me. They don’t know how much I appreciate what they did. It’s wonderful that the kids can think to do something like that. But it was really nice.”
Young also got tickets to an upcoming University of Kentucky Basketball game. He’s been a custodian at the school for nine years.
