A 16-year-old Evansville boy was found dead on Sunday after he fell into Pigeon Creek.

Indiana DNR officials say search crews found the body of Maurice Blake Gray around 2:45 p.m.

He was found about 75 yards from where Gray was last seen Saturday evening.

Officials say they used a remote controlled underwater submarine with sonar to locate the body which was about six feet under water.

Crews were on hand at Dress Plaza about an hour later to receive the body as the family were notified.

“They’re pretty devastated by it obviously. Plenty of family members are helping each other out, but it is very hard for them,” says Indiana Conservation Officer Duane Englert.

Police tell us Gray’s death is still under investigation, but DNR officials say they do not suspect foul play.

They say the witness accounts of Gray struggling with his fishing line and tripping over tree roots into Pigeon Creek are very similar.
