A man is allegedly hit by a car after getting into an argument with the driver.
The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office says it happened before 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the area of Shoshoni Lane and Cherokee Drive.
When deputies arrived, they learned from witnesses the suspect had already driven away from the scene. A relative had rushed the victim to the hospital before they arrived.
The victim told deputies he had been riding with Nicholas Heard when they began to argue. The victim allegedly grabbed Heard’s keys, got out of the car and walked away. The victim says he remembered hearing a car engine rev, and then remembered flying through the air after being struck by Heard’s vehicle. The victim was taken to the hospital with cuts and a possible concussion.
Deputies found Heard’s car at his home on meridian Avenue. They say the front windshield was broken and the vehicle showed signs of an impact.
Heard was arrested on charges of battery with a deadly weapon as well as several outstanding bench warrants.
