Drugs found during traffic stop in Martin County, authorities say

On Sunday, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people on drug charges after a traffic stop.

The vehicle was pulled over on US Highway 231, south of Loogootee.

A K9 smelled the vehicle and found narcotics, authorities said.

Authorities said they found two grams of methamphetamine and a half gram of heroin, along with marijuana and additional drug paraphernalia.

The driver, Paul Adkins, and the passenger, Chelsea Dunbar, were both arrested and transported to the Martin County Security Center.

Adkins is charged with possession of heroin, possession of meth, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.

Dunbar is charged with marijuana possession.
