The man accused in a deadly carjacking and robbery faces the possibility of life in prison without parole.

38-year-old Earl Martin was in court on Wednesday. The Vanderburgh County Prosecutor’s Office filed life without parole sentence enhancement.

Evansville Police believe Martin shot two people during a drug deal last week and stole their car. Brandon Waldroup was shot in the neck and remains in the hospital. 20-year-old Christopher Hoefling died. Police found his body in the stolen car.

Police also suspect Martin in another case, where the body of 41-year-old Erica Bradfield was found in trash bags behind Martin’s mother’s home. Formal charges have not yet been filed in that case.
