HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) The effort to move Kentucky’s statewide elections in line with the presidential electionas wins its first battle.
The Kentucky state senate voted 31-3 in favor of the move, but that’s not the first time has happened. The effort to move the commonwealth’s races for governor, attorney general, and the other state wide offices to the same year as presidential elections has passed the senate in previous years, but it has always died in the house.
Currently Kentucky elects it’s governor in the year before it votes for president.
