Election board allows Princeton council candidate to run as Republican

The Gibson County Election Board voted Friday to allow Nick Burns to run as a Republican Princeton City Council candidate.

The decision was made during a special meeting held by the board.

Burns’ status as a candidate was up in the air after the chairman of the Gibson County Republican Party didn’t certify him because a poll worker failed to mark down Burns’ affiliation in the last primary.
