Evansville Police are looking for a man they say passed a counterfeit check to get a collectible bicycle worth nearly $2,000.

Police say it happened late April at the Antique Market on SE 4th St.  A surveillance picture captured the suspect cashing another check.

Police say he’s about 6’5″ and 270 pounds.

The type of bike he bought with the fake check is a 1957 Schwinn Black Phantom with chrome fenders and a light mounted to the front with white wall tires.

Anyone with information on the suspect’s wherabouts or the bike are asked to call Evansville Police at (812) 436-7896 or the WeTip Hotline at 800-78-CRIME.
