EPD offers Fall Festival safety tips for parents

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – Local authorities want everyone to be safe this week and are offering some advice for parents.

First, nothing takes the place of supervision.

Always keep an eye on your kiddos, who can easily become distracted with all of the sights, sounds and smells.

Make sure to discuss meetings spots and hold younger children’s hands, especially when walking to the festival.

Take a picture of you and your kids so that you know what they’re wearing and can show it to police in the event of a lost child.

The sheriff’s office and police department are both set up near the lost and found booth.

Police also recommend you don’t allow children younger than high school to walk in the games and rides area on Friday and Saturday nights without supervision as it becomes very congested down there.
