EVANSVILLE, In. (WEHT)- Evansville police responded to a shots fired call Wednesday night.

Dispatch said the call came in around 9:45 for shots fired in the 3200 block of Vann Park Boulevard at Vann Park Apartments.

Our Eyewitness News crew at the scene reported seeing an ambulance urgently leaving the scene with its lights on.

According to EPD, two people were found with gunshot wounds, and both were taken to area hospitals. As of now, there is no word on the condition of the individuals, but investigators believe that the shooter is one of the wounded.

Sgt. Anna Gray said it is believed one of the two accused the other of stealing money out of his car because he noticed money missing when the two arrived at Vann Park Apartments. Sgt. Gray said one of the two pistol whipped the other in the head, so he pulled out his own gun in self defense. They both shot each other at the same time, and both were transported to the hospital and are expected to live.

No arrests have been made in the case.
