Evacuation Lifted in Connection with Fire at Mine in Daviess, IN

The evacuation has been lifted for all residents in the area of old Highway 50 and 800 E, according to the Daviess County, Indiana Sheriff’s Office. All roads are back open.

Two fire departments in Daviess County, Indiana are requesting an evacuation while they work on a fire reportedly involving a truck with explosives at a mine.

The mine is located south of Old 509 W of 800 E.

The evacuation is being requested for a one-mile radius from the fire until further notice.

All roads in the area have been closed.
