Evansville bank robbery suspect scheduled to be in court today

The suspect in the area’s latest bank robbery is due in court on Tuesday.

Thirty-six-year-old Bobby Shields is accused of robbing the Fifth Third Bank branch at Washington and Boeke in Evansville.

Police say Shields stole a truck from Gibbs in Henderson while attending a job orientation last Thursday.

They say he then drove it to the bank, where he slipped the teller a note and left with cash.

Shields was *the next day in Henderson.

He is currently in the Henderson County Jail, also facing a theft charge.

He is expected to be extradited back to Evansville to face the robbery charge.
