Adele’s Naturally on Lincoln Avenue in Evansville is believed to be the first business in the area to sell CBD oil.
CBD oil is created from oil extracted from the agricultural hemp plant. The oil is known for helping people who suffer from epilepsy, chronic pain, arthritis and anxiety.
Adele’s Naturally manager Jordan Fink became a believer in the product after suffering a hip injury while weightlifting.
“I did one serving” said Fink “twenty minutes later I had zero hip pain and I had not been pain free for two or three months from the hip injury,so I was a believer right there.”
The store started selling the product slowly until managers realized the high demand for it. The store has been selling CBD oil for nearly a year.
Many people however, wondered if selling CBD oil in Indiana is legal. Indiana State Senator Jim Tomes told Eyewitness News to the best of his knowledge under the guidelines of the law selling CBD oil in Indiana is legal as long as the THC percentage is .03 % or less.
THC is the ingredient in marijuana that causes psychoactive effects. Store management and growers say that hemp and CBD oil do not cause psychoactive effects and is not marijuana.
Management also said that they have heard many success stories of people healing in Tri-State from using the product which they said is a special experience.
“It is heartwarming” said Faye Gibson”it is just really heartwarming to know that a product we sell is doing so much good for so many people in the community.”
