Evansville businesses collecting winter coats for those in need

News

As the cold weather sets in, many people will have to face the freezing temperatures without a coat.

Now, some Evansville businesses are stepping up to make sure that doesn’t happen this winter.

Boxes are now in front of businesses in Haynie’s Corner in downtown Evansville to collect winter clothes for those in need.

People are encouraged to drop off hats, blankets, sleeping bags, long underwear, coats, socks, gloves and mittens.

On November 18, those clothes will be available in front of the Alhambra Theatre.

The drive goes until November 18, but there will be a last-push drive this Saturday at Bokeh Lounge.
