Evansville man accused of killing wife due in court today

A man accused of killing his wife is due back in court today.

Evansville police say Charles Herron shot his wife Amber last August outside the couple’s E. Oregon Street home.

Amber was found inside a car parked in front of the home.

A neighbor told 911 dispatchers Herron told him he may have killed his wife.

A pre-trial conference is scheduled for 8:30 Wednesday morning.

Herron’s trial is set for May 29th.
