Evansville man with felony warrant arrested

Evansville, IN (WEHT) A man with an active felony warrant is arrested near Henning and Ravenswood in Evansville.

Indiana State Police stopped a vehicle in the area around 4:30 p.m. Thursday when a trooper saw someone throw a cigarette out the window.

Due to suspicious activity, an Evansville Police K-9 was brought in. During a search, officers found a loaded .45 caliber handgun that belonged to Trevel Carpenter.

Troopers also found marijuana on Carpenter, and discovered he had an active felony warrant.

Carpenter was arrested on several charges including possession of a firearm by a felon, false informing, and possession of marijuana.
