EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – An Evansville business gets help from a veteran to give thousands to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

The Merry-Go-Round Restaurant is donating $15,000 to the children’s hospital.

They raised money at their anniversary cruise-in and bake sale.

An Evansville Vietnam veteran fronted two-thirds of the money.

The Merry-Go-Round has made a donation to charity for the last seven years.

But this one is special for waitress Stephanie Minks because of who St. Jude helps.

“Children. Children, I mean, they helped my sister when we were kids. She had cerebral palsy… $15,000, it makes me want to cry, haha. The generosity that we’ve seen come from these events is just outstanding. Our community is amazing.”

The daily operating cost of St. Jude’s Children Hospital is more than two million dollars.

But families never receive a bill.
