Evansville Seeking Donations to Fund Agencies that Help the Homeless

We recently told you about funding cuts for several local agencies which cater to the homeless.

The Department of Housing And Urban Development eliminated funding for Aurora, the YWCA and Goodwill Family Center.

For the past several weeks, the city has been looking for contributions to help make up that $162,000, and so far they’re about half way there.

Old National Bank kicked off the campaign with a $10,000 challenge grant.

Since then, a number of local organizations have stepped in to help.

If you’d like to contribute, the Vanderburgh Community Foundation is accepting donations in two ways:

  • Click here to donate via credit card or PayPal.
  • You can also mail a personal check. Make your personal check payable to “Vanderburgh Community Foundation,” write the word “homeless” in the memo line and mail it to: The Vanderburgh Community Foundation, 401 SE 6th Street, Evansville, IN 47708.
