The Evansville Center for Health Sciences opens August 9 and now you’ll have a place to park if you visit.
The city agreed to sell the Locust St. parking garage to Evansville Health Realty.
Evansville Health Realty plans to update the garage and add another elevator.
It’s the oldest downtown garage, with nearly 500 parking spots.
The city sold it for $250,000.
It’s far below the original $1.3 million asking price that was based on appraisal.
As part of the sale agreement, the garage will be open for public parking after hours and on weekends for events at the Ford Center.
