Shortly after 8 Thursday night, Henderson Police say they were notified via a 911 call that there two children left unattended in a locked, running car in the parking lot of the Henderson Walmart.

One child was a four-year-old male, and the other – a 16-month-old female.

Police say 30-year-old Tabitha Stuart, from Evansville, approached officers and stated that she’d only been in the store for five minutes.

Authorities say that multiple witnesses differed with Stuart’s claim, saying that the children inside the vehicle had been left alone “for more than five minutes.”

Police say that Stuart then pushed the witness who called 911, causing her to fall to the ground.

Stuart was arrested for two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.

She is currently lodged at the Henderson County Detention Center.

Authorities say there are more charges against Stuart pending at this time.
