Fatal Illinois Plane Crash Investigation Expected to take Months

News
The investigation into Tuesday’s fatal plane crash in central Illinois could take months.

The National Transportation Safety Board is trying to figure out why the small plane turned as it approached the Bloomington Airport.

The plane was just two miles from the airport when it went down in dense fog.

Seven people were killed in the crash. Two members of Illinois State University’s Athletic Department are among the deceased.

They were returning from the NCAA a Men’s Basketball Tournament in Indianapolis.

“The aircraft was cleared for the approach to the airport using the instrument landing approach, 20 approach. And during the approach the accident occurred,” said Todd Fox with the NTSB.

All of the victims were found still strapped in their seats.
