Feds bust one of the dark web’s largest child porn sites

News

(CNN) – One of the largest darknet child porn websites has been taken down.

The Department of Justice made the announcement on Wednesday.

Officials say child exploitation videos were being bought through bitcoin.

Over 300 users worldwide have been arrested and charged, including people in the United States, the UK, South Korea, Germany, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Czech Republic, Canada, Ireland, Brazil and Australia.

One of the U.S. arrests involved a former ICE Special Agent.

The site was allegedly run by a South Korean national, who is facing charges in the U.S. and South Korea.

The DOJ says 23 victims were rescued in the U.S., Spain, and the UK.
