EVANSVILLE, In. (WEHT) — Local artists showed off their talents Saturday during the annual Funk in the City in Evansville. Booths were set up for artists to display their paintings, sculptures and other works during the 17th year of the event. The event is held in the spring and fall of each year and is open to artists from around the Tri-State. One artist says being around other artists helps inspire her to create unique household items that are both beautiful and functional.
“The fly trap, I actually came up with that a few weeks ago out of necessity basically,” said Lisa Heichelbech. “You google how to get rid of these things, and I thought why not have something attractive. I do things that I don’t see anywhere else because if you can buy it at the mall, I can’t compete with the prices.”
A portion of the proceeds will be used to support the Art’s district.
