EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – Climate change advocates are making their voices heard around the globe, including in Evansville.
Millions of people took part in demanding “an end to the age of fossil fuels” day.
A group of young people led a demonstration in front of the Civic Center in Evansville.
USI student William Bowens was one of the demonstrators. He says we’re facing a climate emergency.
“We are doing this in Evansville because it’s important, because our Evansville leadership is not doing enough to address the crisis and you know thinking globally acting locally.”
“It’s time for our leaders to acknowledge that we have a climate crisis and to start to get very specific about policy proposals that will take place in the near future.”
According to the British Broadcasting Corporation, over one million children were aloud to miss school to join the march in New York.
