For 16 weeks, Eyewitness News has been proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity of Evansville.
Eyewitness News’ Greg Parker gives us a look back in tonight’s Habitat story.
A new Habitat home is almost ready for its future owner. In our final Habitat story, we look back on the progress made on that Habitat home sponsored by Eyewitness News.
We first met future Habitat homeowner Randy Holmes back in early May.
As core crew members and volunteers were building his home, Randy was very excited.
Randy is visually impaired and extremely hard of hearing, but that never held back his enthusiasm or hard work effort.
In June, we met with Randy and an interpreter from Deaf Communications. By this time, Randy was thinking ahead to living in his new home.
In July, the walls of Randy’s Habitat home were up and members of our Eyewitness News team were there to pain them.
Now that we’re into August, the house on Garfield Ave. is just weeks away from completion. Very soon, a dedication to Randy will take place.
At this ceremony, he’ll finally get his keys and unlock the door to his new home which Eyewitness News was proud to sponsor.
