The number of hate crimes reported to the FBI have increased over the past year.
That’s according to the Uniform Crime Reporting Program’s Annual Hate Crime Statistics report.
Law enforcement reported over 7,000 hate crimes in 2017, up from about 6,000 in 2016.
According to the report, the most common bias categories were race, religion and sexual orientation.
