This week, schools across the country are celebrating National School Breakfast Week.
In Henderson County, schools are trying out different foods to broaden their menu.
Thursday morning, students were served doughnut breakfast sandwiches.
Doughnuts are cut in half and then filled with sausage, egg and cheese.
Staff also made breakfast pizzas using a recipe designed by students.
It’s a fun time of year for staff and students.
Of course, the traditional cereal and fruit is available.
Students said they love this time of year and getting their hands on something new.
