Henderson Voters Come to Candidate Forum

News
Henderson voters get their chance to hear candidates face off tonight.

The forum took place at the Henderson County Courthouse. Candidates for county judge, city commissioner, school board district two, state representative, and mayor were all there.

People could meet the candidates and ask them questions. Mayoral candidates discussed topics like rebuilding fire station one and gay rights.

“My hope is that fairness is an everyday way of life in Henderson. I have not actually seen the need for some kind of legislation that would dictate rules and regulations on those lifestyles,” said Mayor Steve Austin.

“I feel like it’s not necessary at all because I feel like from here from a government stand. From a public standpoint we certainly treat everyone fairly,” said Patti Bugg.

Tonight’s forum was organized by Western Kentucky Tea Party Patriots. The next forum will be October 27.
