HFD receives support for new rescue boat

The Henderson Fire Department receives support from the city on a new rescue boat grant.

The fire department has a 12-foot boat built for the Ohio River, but Chief Scott Foreman says it’s too big for flood water or small streams.

The Henderson Fire Department has a dive team. And if they need a small boat, they have to rely on the county’s boat.

Foreman says the fire department responded to several calls in the past year where a smaller boat was needed.
