High river levels causing deer to migrate near Highway 41

With higher than normal river levels the past few days, more and more deer are leaving the river bottoms and migrating over to Highway 41.

There’s a large herd of deer just south of the Twin Bridges, waiting to cross.

This can be seen several times a year as the deer herds move from habitat to habitat.

Drivers should use caution in this area because a lot of deer have also been hit and are still on the road.

If you encounter a deer in the road, don’t swerve because that could put you in a much worse situation.
