Hillary Clinton has now officially clinched the Democratic nomination for president after being the party’s presumptive nominee.

A roll call at the convention in Philadelphia gathered the official number of delegates from each state.

Clinton needed 2,382 delegates to clinch the nomination.

She is the first woman to be formally nominated for president by a major party.

Her husband, former President Bill Clinton, is scheduled to speak Tuesday night at the Democratic National Convention.
