The residents at Evansville’s Brentwood Nursing Home took time Sunday to remember their mothers who have passed.
Unable to send them flowers or visit them, the residents found a way to send them a present – by releasing a balloon to heaven in their honor.
“It’s kind of emotional. It’s probably one of the few times that they you know remember their parents,” Faith Tomlinson, Brentwood Nursing Home’s activity director, said. “They think of the times you know the good times that they had and they really enjoy the celebrating part of it.
Tomlinson said helping the residents send their balloons to the sky is one of the most wonderful feelings in the world.
