New voter registration, new programming error


(WEHT)-One week before a presidential primary election, the Illinois Secretary of State’s office acknowledges a third programming error.

A letter to county clerks said a batch of records for real ID applicants were mistakenly categorized as having opted out of registration.

Election officials are now scrambling to update their voter rolls with the names of more than a thousand voters who were denied their registration through the state’s new automatic registration program
