Illinois’ OTC permit system suspended due to technical errors


We have some not so good news for some Illinois turkey hunters.

The Department of Natural Resources says due to technical errors, its over-the-counter direct permit system has been temporarily suspended.

Turkey season in Illinois started Tuesday, March 12, 2019.

The Department of Natural Resources says it’s working to resolve the issues and will announce a new date as soon as possible.
