No jail time. That’s the sentence given to an Ft. Wayne, Indiana couple who admitted to zip-tieng their children in a freezing van last winter.
Instead, the Allen County Judge says Marian Clark, 41, and Robert Boyko, 42, will serve probation.
In January, police found seven kids shivering in a cold van outside a motel.
Some of them were zip-tied to their seats.
None of them had coats andsome weren’t even wearing socks or shoes.
Authorities say the youngest child, a newborn was only wearing a one-sie.
Child protective services had already been involved with this family before they were arrested, something the prosecutor felt should have been considered in their sentencing.
The parents won’t be allowed to have contact with their children for the next several years.
The children will remain in foster care while the couple gets extensive counseling.
