INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WXIN/WEHT) — Fallen Indianapolis police officer Bre Leath will be laid to rest on Thursday.

Leath was killed in the line of duty while responding to a domestic disturbance on April 9.

Family will gather to pay their final respects during a private funeral service on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

First responders will be at the service, but they will stay inside their vehicles.

Immediately following the service, several dozen vehicles will participate in a police-escorted funeral procession.

Officer Leath’s parents, Tom and Jennifer Leath, shared a personal message with the public this week, saying she loved Indianapolis and loved being a police officer.

In lieu of cards and flowers, her family asked that donations be made to The Central Indiana Police Foundation by clicking here, to provide a trust for her young son.
