New restrictions for electronic devices in Evansville federal courthouse

INDIANA (WEHT) Federal courthouses in the Southern District of Indiana are adding new restrictions to electronic devices, including in Evansville.

Starting August 2, people must power off and secure their cellphones and other devices before entering federal court buildings.

This also includes the federal courthouses in Indianapolis, Terre Haute, and New Albany. Certain individuals will be exempt including attorneys, grand jurors, law enforcement officials, and judicial officers.
