ISP: 44 Grams of Meth Discovered During Traffic Stop

Two people were arrested in Warrick County after authorities say they discovered drugs during a traffic stop Sunday night.

Chasity Shelton, 42, was initially charged with driving with a suspended license. A passenger, 53-year-old Robert Earl Payton, 53, was wanted out of Spencer County for manufacturing methamphetamine.

Authorities say a search of the vehicle led them to discover several plastic baggies containing 44 grams of crystal meth, a small amount of marijuana, two digital scales, and drug paraphernalia.

Shelton and Payton were both taken to the Warrick County Jail. A small amount of marijuana was also found inside Shelton’s underwear at the jail, according to authorities.

Both are currently being held on bond.

Both face charges of of dealing meth, possession of meth, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.
