VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – A South Vermillion County School Corporation employee has been arrested for theft.
Lydia Stevens, 40, of Terre Haute, is charged with possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor theft and Theft – a Level 6 Felony.
On May 16th, Indiana State Police were contacted by the school corporation about a possible prescription medication theft at Van Duyn Elementary School.
During the investigation, detectives say Stevens, who was a Health Aid, stole the medication from a student at the school.
The findings from the investigation were presented to the prosecutor’s office and Stevens was arrested on Aug. 22nd.
Stevens is being held in the Vermillion County Jail.
