Democrats running for office in Indiana appeared at a candidates forum Tuesday night. It was held at Ivy Tech and sponsored by Indivisible Evansville.
Indivisible Evansville says during the last midterm election fewer than 3 in 10 eligible Hoosiers actually voted, making for the lowest turnout in the nation. The group is hoping to change that by giving voters an opportunity to meet the candidates.
Among those attending was William Tanoos who is running for the Indiana 8th district House seat.
Tanoos says, “Everyone in this district who is involved and certainly coming out to vote takes an approach that’s educated and informed and people want to know your answers. They demand you’re accountable and you show up so they both were, I think, respectful and happy that I gave answers in full detail and honesty.”
Tanoos is hoping to unseat incumbent Larry Bucshon.
Indivisible Evansville says all five Republican incumbents chose not to appear at the forum.
