With Indiana Governor Mike Pence now as Donald Trump’s running mate, another Republican will have to take his place in the Hoosier State. Now a downstate candidate may be putting his name out there.
Eyewitness News’ media partner the Evansville Courier & Press reports State Senator Jim Tomes of Wadesville has decided to run for governor. The paper quotes a letter sent from Tomes to the State GOP Committee which meets July 26, to vote for the new nominee.
If he does run, Tomes will face Indiana 5th District Representative Susan Brooks, Indiana 4th District Representative Todd Rokita, current Lt. Governor Eric Holcomb.
