Judge Rules Hoosier Teacher Contract Changes Illegal_-6929140728239864896

A judge rules that a standard teacher contract form that allows Indiana school districts to change the hours or days that teachers work without adjusting their pay is illegal.

The Marion County judge permanently barred the state’s Department of Education from using the forms.  All school districts in the state would have been required to use them.  The judge says that would have allowed districts to fire teachers at will, which violates Indiana law.
