The jury in the trial of Michael Howell has found Howell guilty of voluntary manslaughter, criminal recklessness, attempted robbery, and auto theft.

The defense rested its case on Thursday and closing arguments started around 4 p.m.

The trial started Monday.

Prosecutors say Michael Howell shot and killed 30-year-old Beverly Karns in April of 2016.

It allegedly happened at a home on Maxwell Ave. near Stringtown.

Police say after Howell shot Karns, he put her body in his truck and drove to Warrick County where he crashed.

Officers say Howell then shot a bystander and stole a vehicle.
