WAVERLY, Ky. (WEHT) — A Western Kentucky businessman is offering free housing to some families dealing with COVID-19.

Donnie Greenwell of Greenwell Home has six homes in Union County he is willing to let people stay in rent-free.

The idea is to give people a place to stay while their family members are being quarantined. Greenwell says Union County only has a handful of positive cases, but he says he thinks his offer will help.

“It seems to be escalating, and I feel like people need to take it real serious to keep this coronavirus down, and by offering a way to keep these families separated for a period of time I think would be beneficial to the county,” Greenwell said.

The homes are unfurnished. Anyone who may be interested in one of the houses should contact Greenwell Homes.
