Former Armstrong Coal executives found not guilty

KENTUCKY (WEHT) – The four former executives of Armstrong Coal accused of skirting dust rules in two underground mines were found not guilty on Thursday.

Defense attorneys argued that prosecutors lacked evidence that the men conspired to cheat the rules. Nine people were originally charged in the case, but five reached plea agreements with prosecutors to avoid felony charges.

All four men were cleared of charges.
