Gov. Beshear urges some Kentuckians to wear masks

FRANKFORT, Ky – Governor Andy Beshear recommends some Kentuckians start masking up again amid the spread of the Delta variant.

Beshear urged frontline workers and those at high risk due to preexisting health conditions to wear masks, even if they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Beshear says the Delta variant is deadly for unvaccinated Kentuckians, and continues to urge those who are not vaccinated to get the shot.

“One solution to all of it, get vaccinated,” said Beshear. “Get vaccinated to protect yourself, get vaccinated to protect the people around you, get vaccinated so we can defeat COVID once and for all.”

The Kentucky Department of Public Health reports 51 percent of Kentuckians are fully vaccinated.
